Hossein Maleki Alavi, P.Eng. is the founder and principal of ITMBC Enterprises Inc. He is a Water Resources Engineer and possesses a master’s degree in the field of Hydraulic Structure from the University of Tehran (Iran). He has 29 years of experience in water resources engineering, both in design and construction. He has practiced in various water resources projects, waterworks, hydrology, hydraulics, technology know-how, manufacturing, and building construction.
Hossein has continued his professional journey in Vancouver, BC (2016), pursuing his passion for water resources engineering. He has been involved in the design and field review of several residential and commercial development projects (as engineer of record), including stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, sump pump, water, sanitary and stormwater connection, flood hazard assessment, creeks restoration, onsite wastewater treatment systems (septic), and groundwater monitoring. He has been a field reviewer engineer in a mine surface water management project and a fish habitat offsetting project in northwest BC. He has contributed to a study of extreme floods in a mine site in interior BC. He is also a surface water management team lead/designer for several mine surface water management plans. Hossein has a combination of technical and managerial skill sets in the water resources area; analytical and computational abilities (software and the physical rationale behind them) and the capacity to deliver projects on time and within budget are among his skills. He is a lifetime learner and has celebrated attending several courses, programs, and certifications as continuing study, including erosion and sediment control, BC building code, construction management& technology& legal, onsite wastewater treatment systems (septic), customer services, business management, occupational health-safety-environment (HSE), and several ongoing trainings under career development program.
He is a registered professional engineer with Engineers& Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
